WHEN THE WAIT FEELS LONG...

Golden autumn leaves against a clear sky

Daughters of God,

A QUICK WORD FROM THIS MORNING'S PRAYER CALL:

Y'all ever hear that phrase? A watched pot don't get boiled. Essentially it means that time seems to pass by slower when you're standing by waiting for something to happen. What can you be doing in the meantime while you wait for your water to boil?

What else does that meal require? Chop up those veggies, cook the meat...and before you know it, your water will be boiled and ready for the pasta. Don't just stand there and wait. Do something while you wait. Make yourself of good use while you wait.

Did you know that garlic takes 9 months to harvest?????? That's a whole baby.

Garlic is usually planted in the fall (October) and guess what?!!? The cloves first establish their roots then GOES DORMANT FOR THE WINTER!! Then in the spring (April), it does most of it's growing & is ready for harvest by the summer time (June/July). That means that you will be experiencing a few seasons while you wait for your harvest. When God speaks a promise, thats the seed. What can you be doing while you wait? Every seed that the Lord plants, MUST produce fruit. His word does not return to Him void.

If you know nothing about planting garlic when you first start your garden you may be wondering...what did I do wrong? Why isn't it sprouting up??? Why don't I see any growth? How come it hasn't happened yet? The seed was planted months ago...You may feel compelled to dig it up. DON'T. A farmer doesn't plant something then dig it up JUST BECAUSE they're not seeing progress.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NLT) For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.

Do not be tempted to take a shortcut just because you're not seeing what the Lord spoke. The enemy offers short cuts. He offers alternative routes to the promise. There is only ONE way. ONE route.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Don't rely on what you see. The promise hasn't died. It's dormant for a season. But it will surely come to harvest in due season...at the proper time. Yes, you will go through many seasons while you wait but that's the point. Allow the Lord to refine you, to purify you, to polish you..that when the harvest is ready, you are also ready.

Galatians 6:9 (NKJV) And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

A parent isn't going to feed their newborn meat because they're not properly developed to handle it. They don't have any teeth and also, their digestive systems can only handle milk. It would be poor judgment for them to prematurely give their baby this when they know it would do them no good. That parent is going to wait for the baby to grow and develop first and when they get a certain age, they can eat the meat when they have what it takes to handle it.

Allow the Lord to develop you while you wait for His promise to come to pass.

Submit. Yield. Surrender. & wait in expectation.

Habakkuk 2:3 (NLT) This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.
